Independent workshops and other professional development opportunities listed on this page are not audited or reviewed by ACTRA in any way (even when instructors claim to be ACTRA members).  We are not responsible for any false claims that a course provider may make.  This is simply a resource that performers can use to find out what workshops are out there; it is up to you to get references and investigate providers.

Click here if you have a workshop you wish to promote.  If your workshop is deemed as something that would enhance the professional development of our membership, we will post it under the appropriate category.  This page will only post workshops that are meaningful to Performers in recorded media.

Note: Performers should not be charged for courses conducted by Casting Directors on how to be a Background Performer as a condition of their future employment.

Meisner Technique with Lori Ravensborg

This improvisational technique is an on-going process designed to peel away the defensive masks we have learned through society's influence and get you back to working from your gut instincts. Through exercises designed to focus on behavior and listening with all of our senses, this technique will give you an honest, clear and powerful tool to approach any scene or work you do. To know your own range of expression will then enable you to use your own emotional individuality more fully.

For course information contact Lori Ravensborg:
Phone: (403) 302-7674 or Email:  loriravensborg@shaw.ca

Lori is a graduate of the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre, New York City, is an instructor at Red Deer College, Motion Picture Arts Department and a past instructor for Playhouse North and Canadian Casting Centre.
