What has been your favourite role?
My favourite role thus far as an Intimacy Coordinator was probably my first ACTRA contract for the work back in Spring of 2019. The team at The Curse Of Audrey Earnshaw was amazing and they explored best practices with me in a really open and willing way. I was very lucky to be on that project.
What do you do when you are not performing?
I have four kids so I am pretty busy. I also teach Theatrical Intimacy, Dance and Stage Combat and have always loved it. Otherwise I’m a big reader and recently went back to school full time to finish my degree in History.
What organization / activity are you involved with or passionate about that people would find interesting?
I am currently in the process of setting up training for a team of independent Intimacy Coordinators to be trained here in Alberta and am passionate about that team being as diverse as possible. We need more talented people doing this work and those folks should come from a variety of backgrounds with unique points of view.
What is your favorite movie and/or TV show?
Favourite movie, this is just purely from my geeky soul and it’s Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan. The ending decimated my young Trekker heart. I think it’s maybe obvious that my favourite TV show has been and will always be: Star Trek. It was revolutionary in its concept, casting and ideals. Also, one of the first interracial kisses on tv FTW!
As a Performer, what is one thing you wish you would have known sooner?
I wish I had learned more about what every crew and production member has to do every day. I respect their work a lot but as a younger performer I had no idea what most of them did. I still only have a very meagre idea and I’m doing my best to learn.
